I am a freelance journalist and full-time professional stills photographer who occasionally films interviews on video using digital SLRs.
I have recently switched from PC to the Apple (Macbook Pro) platform. With the MacBook I have to re-learn my editing skills because I have never edited in iMovies or on the Apple platform.
Ideally I am looking for a local freelancer or even a talented amateur who is well versed in iMovies editing of vide shot in a journalistic style.
My interviews are generally shot with two or three digital SLRs, so you must be conversant in 'camera switching' (cutting from angle to angle periodically), adding sub-titles, colour grading, shot matching (matching colour temperature and exposure) in 'talking head' interviews, and maybe the occasional bit of 'motion tracker' re-touching.
I am based in Bondi Junction in Sydney and I have transport. Ideally I would prefer to work with someone in my local area (Sydney CBD or Eastern Suburbs), I can come to you or vice versa. Heck, we can even do the tutorials in a coffee shop or bar - I'm flexible, easy to work with and laid-back.
Please also note that this will be a recurring work offer; if I run into any hitches down the track with my editing, I will re-hire you. I can also hire you as an assistant on bigger jobs. I will keep your details handy.
Note : Work does not start until June.
