We have a prototype built for a short Unity game that will be incorporated as part of a Neverland/ Peter Pan themed room. The game involves sailing a ship to a specific island to finish the puzzle, while avoiding getting too close to the wrong islands. The prototype can be viewed through the google drive download below.
Currently the game is lacking detail and excitement that we would like to see added. We have ideas for certain additions but do not need these specific ideas if they are too challenging or time consuming. We would also be open to purchasing assets from the Unity Store (or similar place) if it reduces the time of this project.
Ideas for additions include: We want to make the first island more menacing, perhaps by adding a storm or dangerous looking rocks with breaking waves with sound effects.
The second island we would like to add native island warriors on the island. Perhaps have a canoe ship with a couple warriors that launches towards the player. We would also like the island to have a more unique design by adding foliage or perhaps a beach.
The third island we would like to modify the sounds used to add more wildlife noises, a whale noise, or a monster growl. We would also like the whales around the island to be bigger/more exciting and add wildlife to the island. Adding a forest or similiar environment change to set this island aside from others.
Target Island - we would like to have a tree house added with a banner saying 'Lost Boys" and have some cartoonish children added with arms waving.
Other ideas include having the pirate ships follow the player and fire cannons at them. As mentioned before, we do not need any of these ideas if they are too challenging. We are open to discussing alternatives to making the game more exciting,
We plan to install a ship wheel to a rotary encoder to use as a steering wheel for this game. This would be connected to an arduino or similar devices and used to steer the in-game boat. Please factor this goal into the movement of the ship and other features.
