I have hundreds of thousands of files I need to rename with base64 encoding on a Windows 2012 server. I need it to handle renaming huge numbers of files and it needs to be fast. Doesn't matter if it is a stand alone program, batch file, command line, Power Shell command etc. If I can just select a directory, be able to recursively dig into sub directories and rename files with the file extension I choose I will be satisfied. The smaller the memory footprint the better as well. The only software solution I have found requires loading all the files into the software before it begins renaming and it can't handle the number of files I need to rename.

Hi, I am expert developer with years behind me in various areas including fast and reliable file managers and file related operations. Can you tell me do you need to do renaming based on some fixed predefined rule or renaming should be dynamic (depending on existing file or some other params)?

Hello, my solution can be a standalone program made in Delphi (programming language Object Pascal). Can you tell me more about rename procedure? Is it going to be just an old name encoded with Base64, plus do you want to filter "files to be renamed" by extension, am I right? Files can be renamed on the fly, during the recursive search, this will speed up the whole process. Please give me more details about rename process and i'll be ready to work for you on this small project.

I had done the similar app like this. My application was a small app to check files which contain more than 255 characters. We can rename those files as well. Please let me know if you are able to have a discussion. Thanks, Edi

Hello! I'm an expert developer. I'm graduated on information technologies and specialized on it security. I can develop your program. So your files are base 64 encoded files (maybe emails) and you have to rename it faster, on folders and subfolders. No problem. Take a look to my profile and contact me if you prefer. Thanks.
