I want a high-performance HTTP(S) proxy which can examine and examine/replace the Authorization headers on request and the WWW-Authenticate [login to view URL] should call customisable functions for each of those stages. It needs to be able to present a valid X.509 certificate for incoming HTTPS traffic. The proxy needs to be able to handle multiple IP addresses and URLs and dispatch correctly. It needs to be resilient, so that it times-out failed requests and releases resources. It should handle file uploads & downloads correctly and transparently. All the source needs to be properly commented in good English. It needs to be written in Rust.

Hello, I'm a programmer with 2 years experience in Rust. I started using async before it came out in Rust 1.39. I'm very familiar with tokio v0.2, hyper, reqwest, warp, actix-web and rocket, and know how to optimize them. My GitHub: [login to view URL] Open Source projects I regularly contribute to: * [login to view URL] * [login to view URL] * [login to view URL] My latest Rust project: [login to view URL] Livestreams of me contributing to open source code (videos are in Italian): [login to view URL] Let me know in private chat if you have any questions. I can also setup the CI for the project and push commits to a private GitHub or GitLab repository.

Since Rust is a relatively new language, I don't have years of experience with it. However I have 20+ years experience with C++, Python, Javascript and many other related languages on which Rust is based. Also 5+ years of experience with Golang. I've been using Rust recently for much of my work so I am confident I can make on a program that works as per your expectation, including time for testing & validation. I am assuming you are targeting Linux, and basing my proposal on that. I can use TPROXY extension to intercept HTTPS & HTTP traffic. This allows the program to function as a transparent proxy that can if required autogenerate a new certificate for each hostname as required, or use a wildcard certificate that will function for all websites. To be clear, this will require you to install custom CA certificate on all your clients, otherwise they will get security errors & warnings on their browsers.
