Metal Scrap Geometrical Info Extraction From an Image (Using Python and preferably OpenCV) ( Small - Medium Size Task)

I need a python script that can extract geometrical information from an image of a metal scrap laying on a blue background ( a conveyor belt). The images are taken with intel RealSense D435 or Lidar L515. Thus there exists depth and color images. The depth images are expected to help calculate thickness and volume.
Programming Language : python
Library that is better used : Open CV
Extraction of geometrical info such as:
- Width (cm or mm )
- Length
- Surface Area (cm^2 or mm^2)
- Thickness
- Weight (kg or g)
- Volume ( cm^3 or mm^3 )
- Mass center
- Orientation on the conveyor belt. (How is the longest side of the scrap oriented with respect to the center line of the conveyor belt, what's the angle ? )
But python script is a requirement . (preferably using OpenCV library)
