Build me a script for basic tracking cell movement in images

We want to study the movements of cells. For this, we have a series of images taken under an optical microscope at the rate of one frame per second; each series contains 60 images, which are in the same directory. The cells (we see 30 in the photographed field), about 10 μm in diameter, are colored so that their membranes appear in green and their nucleus in blue. The objective of this project is to compare three series, which differ in the environment in which cells evolve: • Control: normal medium • Fast: Addition in the environment of an additive that is supposed to allow the cells to move faster; • Attract: a substance that could attract cells has been added in a corner, but the experimenter did not indicate which corner it is. The questions we want to answer are: • What is the speed of movement of cells under normal conditions, knowing that the scale of the image is 0.5μm per pixel? • Is the additive effective? In what proportion can we estimate that it has increased speed? • Does the attractor have an effect? If so, where was it deposited? The script has to be written with simple functions, without using OpenCV or such modules. You should either use matplotlib's imshow module because that's the purpose of the project, or use no particular module at all. Please try to comment the code for explanations and please write it such that a beginner/intermediate could understand it. I will personally send you the cell images if you sign up for this task!

Hi there! I have experience in doing almost the same job of image recognition without using OpenCV in python. The project in which I was working has to deal with object recognition of some images from an ecology field work so they were a bit more messy than yours (I expect). I think that the plan to do it would be somewhat similar to the following one: What is the speed of movement of cells under normal conditions, knowing that the scale of the image is 0.5μm per pixel? -> To get the center of mass of the object being recognized and perform the necessary calculations Is the additive effective? In what proportion can we estimate that it has increased speed? AND Does the attractor have an effect? If so, where was it deposited?. This will be simply applying an appropriate statistical test to the data gathered in previous steps. In this cases the code is always commented, but surely we can make something like a skype/whatsapp call for you to get a better understanding of it. Well, if you're interested just message me and we can talk more about it. Good luck!
