Hi I have a lambda script with python and I am using boto3 for it,I wanted to get the IP address of an instance that was created by an autoscaling group and wanted to update it with an elastic ip. But in production we only use Private ip's, so is there a way to use elastic ip for a private IP. another solution would be, storing these IP's in s3 bucket and accessing it through jenkins for deployment would be helpful. Any other suggestions of implementing it would be helpful.

If instance is launched with private ip and you need to attach a public ip to it afterwards with a lambda: 1. Instance status must be logged into CloudWatch 2. Lambda must be configured to listening a CloudWatch thread and await status changes 3. Allocate and attach or remove EIP from the instance Note: Before adding an EIP recheck if subnet has access to the internet or NAT, public ip without 0.0.0.0 routing is pointless. If you are solving service discovery (public or internal) or load balancing task this also can be achieved with a lambda.
