Looking to bring on a developer to manage and extend a large functional web mining application. The back end is built on: Ubuntu, Redis, EC2, MongoDB, and Python. The front end is Bootstrap and Django. Familiarity with all of the above and expertise with some of the above is required. The ability to quickly learn, adapt, and evolve your skills is critical. Proactive developers that get the job done without micro-managing is very important. I am looking to establish a solid relationship with someone who really knows their stuff and bring them into a team of professional developers doing amazing things. It has taken me years to find a few really good developers that move mountains. I am hopeful that you are the next one to join the team. I would like to know a little about you. Please answer these questions: * What source code control system do you use? * How do you approach your documentation? * Give me an example of a project that totally failed. * What open source projects do/have you contribute(d) to in your spare time? * What beta toys are you playing with? I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi , * What source code control system do you use? Initial used cvs , now a days svn. Used git ony for downloading some repos though. * How do you approach your documentation? Prefer comment based docs easy to manage from my point of view. For c++ project doxygen, perldoc for perl and javadoc for java. * Give me an example of a project that totally failed. Recently websocket based thin client for displaying the realtime feed from airplanes. It didnt fail because i didnt achive the goals. The client had a requirement to match some of the stuff in his emulator which was correct. But had to let go because there were some miscommunications. * What open source projects do/have you contribute(d) to in your spare time? Recently a usb based alarm system. Before that fixed few bugs in log4cxx apache and gstreamer issue which was having issues in my system. * What beta toys are you playing with? Have custom products of my own related to low latency feed servers , smpp and 2Fa security. They are live adding new functionality and testing them is in progress.

Hi, I've worked a lot with Ubuntu, EC2, Python, Bootstrap and Django Also done some work for MongoDB. Even though I haven't much experience in Redis I am confident I can learn about it in short time. Here are my answers to the questions you've posted: * What source code control system do you use? Git but also have used Mercurial/Hg for quiet long time * How do you approach your documentation? I do constantly comment my code especially when I am writing a complicated function. I didn't do much real end user documentation writing before * Give me an example of a project that totally failed. I am usually very careful picking up my projects. I ask too many questions and make sure I am fully aware of all the requirements before I start. I don't say I'll do something unless I know I can do it! and that's why I have no failed projects. In few instances I probably misunderstood client's requirement and when the new requirement is beyond my capabilities I apologize and cancel the project (hence my completion rate is less than 100%) . I have no recent failures of that kind that I can recall. If you are interested in my bid please let me know more about the project. Best Regards, Ramast * What open source projects do/have you contribute(d) to in your spare time? * What beta toys are you playing with?

I am a linux system administrator that is Red Hat Engineer certified (I can provide a cert ID). I have worked on multiple different projects that use Django. They range from automatic provisioning systems for game servers using a ZMQ to time management systems that interface with Android and iOS devices. Also I have developed pyqt/pyside apps that interface with Django websites and also gathers data from flight simulators. For a source code system I currently use GIT, I find it works really well. Documentation for source code is done as I go with comments in the code however I can provide separate files to document. A project that I have worked on that failed completely was a project to track minecraft servers. Currently I have not contributed to open source projects. Something I wish to do however I have not found one that fits me. Currently I am playing with building my own cloud/HA infrastructure using GlusterFS and KVM servers all controlled by a Django site with Celery handing all tasks to keep the web UI responsive.
