We need to be able to press a sequence of buttons on a Gigapan Epic Pro system ([login to view URL]) that automates panoramic photography using a dSLR.
The control panel is approx 10cm x 5cm and we will need mutliple buttons pressed in a pre-defined sequence with pre-defined gaps between button presses. We need this whole sequence to then be repeated on a timescale of our choice e.g 1x per hour between 9am - 9pm, or 2x per day at 9am and 5pm.
An additional problem is that each panorama may be 200 photos, we will fill up the dSLR memory card very fast. A system to write/copy/backup the data from the camera to HDD would be needed - the USB out from the camera (perhaps canon digital rebel dSLR, or, open to alternatives) will be the link to get data off.
The final button push powers down the Gigapan between panoramas to save power, as the whole system will run from car batteries being charged by solar panels. Therefore the Pi or Arduino systems needs to have a little power draw as possible, perhaps even be off between scheduled start-ups at the defined time interval to begin pressing buttons.
