Google Contacts API - Remove URL links (any language, Bonus for Ruby)

Hi I have an extensive experience with Python and Ruby. I have used various Google APIs in the past so I believe I can do the job. I will try to do it in ruby using one of Google Contacts API gems, because plain interaction might be painful since Contacts API uses XML. Hopefully I will be able to make it versatile so it can delete any user defined field(s) from contacts. The script (software) will use this [login to view URL] authorization approach. The application would need to redirect the user to Google's OAuth server. The server would authenticate the user and obtain consent from the user for the application to access the user's data. I have for 4 years on Ruby since 2011. I have completed many project with Oauth2. Although I haven't use Google Contacts API, but I'm familiar with Google API, such as Map API, I think It's not hard to understand the Contacts API in a few hours.
