We are creating a Community Events listing site through Wordpress or as a custom Google map development. It must be simple and intuitive to use but effective and technologically robust. We have a website designer who is proficient with Wordpress/HTML/CSS but need help with some more in deoth custom development aspects of the site.
The chosen developer will work with the designer to create the site and it will be a very fast project, we need the webiste launched before the end of December.
Here is an overview of what we want to achieve:
The main feature of the site will be a map
All Events will be displayed on a world map
Events can be added in different categories which are defined by admin
Different categories can have different custom markers/pins on map
Categories listed to the side or below map can filter which pins are displayed
When pin is clicked a balloon/bubble opens up with event details summary
When link in bubble is clicked, the user is taken to events details page
There should also be a list of Events which can be searched and filtered by category, date, and location
Events can be added to the site by event organiser but should be approved by admin
Event organisers have to register on site to add events
Events added in Main category are free to add
There is a fee to add events in other categories
Events added in Main category have a pre-written template description but location and date and time can be changed
Max number of participants for events can be set by admin, and can be different for each category
Visitors to site can RSVP to events to contact event organiser or book event via site
Another feature will be adding community members from an excel file to represent their location on map, this should be an admin function
These ‘people’ should be represented on the map with a different custom marker
Most of this can be achieved using the EventBuilder Wordpress theme ([login to view URL])
The additional functionality we would need you to work on to customise the theme for our purpose are:
- Ability to import ‘people’ to the map via an excel doc, displaying people on the map with custom marker
- Making it free to add event in certain category
- Making an event template for certain category
However we do not have to use this theme, if you feel another theme or plugin or custom solution is best and within our budget and tiemscale please propose it with details of how it can meet our needs.
THE SITE WILL NEED TO BE IN FRENCH INITIALLY SO YOU WILL ALSO BE REPONSIBLE FOR IMPLEMENTING FRENCH LANGUAGE FILES.
