After trying most free and commercial shopping cart systems for Joomla, I gave up and decided to see if I can find some help developing a custom cart solution. It will NOT require any payment or shipping modules, as it will work as a catalog only, retaining the "shopping cart" function in order to request a quote from our sales department. It will need to have categories, subcategories, and products with images and a lot of options (dimensions, materials, colors, etc...) that have to be filterable, possibly with Ajax. It might sound complicated, but it really will be minimalistic, as we decided to avoid out-of-the-box solutions because they had way to many features that rendered them overkill.
