Clone current site as master site on JMS Multisite for Joomla

We have several Joomla community news sites that we want to move onto the JMS multisite platform, primarily so that they may all share users and certain articles.
This project is for creating the initial master site. We want the master site to be based on a clone of our most recently designed site:

And the slave sites on JMS multisite (to be created in a subsequent project) will be replacing several others that have an older design:

We have JMS currently installed on a fresh Joomla install and are ready to start creating the master,
If this project goes well, then we will likely use the same developer to create the slaves and assist with migrating and assigning the current users and articles as is appropriate.
