I am getting an error on my online store that is built on CRE Loaded and hosted with Godaddy. The error is "FATAL ERROR: register_globals is disabled in [login to view URL], please enable it!" The website was functioning fine from last couple of years. Suddenly this eror started coming. I believe that Godaddy has update the PHP version on their shared hosting that is causing this issue. Currently the register_globals = on in the [login to view URL], however when I change it to [login to view URL] it starts giving a list of depreciated functions. The objective of this project is to fix this issue and probably that may require the CRE Loaded files need to be enhanced to be compatible with PHP 5.3. The website has to be properly functional including store front and the admin.

Hello! Apparently your hosting has indeed upgraded the php version, that's what causes the chain of errors there. CRELoaded, as well as OSCommerce which it derived from, relied on many deprecated PHP functions and usages, and there's probably quite a bit of work fixing them all. I would like to see the URL that shows all those errors. I'm available to work over the weekend and fix it within the next 48h most likely. I will need ftp login and website admin (there are also some errors there, too, for sure) Regards, Dragos

Hi, I have upgraded my clients PHP websites to make them compatible with newer versions of PHP. I would like to know what version of CRE Loaded you are using so that I can try running it on my server and seeing the errors. I think that there are two solutions to the problem. One is that we upgrade the version of CRE Loaded and I believe the newer versions will be compatible with PHP 5.4+. The second solution is going through the code and looking at the variables being used and changing the code to work with register globals off. This would be a time consuming process so I would suggest option 1. I would like to have a look at the PHP files so I would appreciate it if you would make them available to me so I can make a better judgement. Best Regards, Anthony Darwesh.
