We are in need of a simple toolbar for Internet Explorer and Firefox (if possible).
The toolbar should be fully controlled by an XML file. It should connect to our server daily and download the new XML file, as well as automatically update the DLL file if a newer version is available.
It should also have room for a logo, search box, and buttons. All of the image URLs for the logos and buttons will be contained within the XML file. The toolbar should download the images and use a local copy. As with the automatic update, if an image changes on the server, it should download it and overwrite the local copy.
Auto-Search: When the user enters a search term into the address bar, we would like the toolbar to re-direct them to our search engine and display the results for the search-term they entered. The base URL for our search engine will be defined in the XML file.
Related-Search Pop-Under: Once per browser session, we would like the toolbar to open a pop-under if the user searches using Google, MSN, Yahoo!, AOL, Lycos, Altavista, etc.; the pop-under will open a URL containing similar search terms so the toolbar will need to pass the search term in the URL. As with the auto-search, the base URL will be defined in the XML file. We should also have the ability to enable/disable this feature in the XML file.
We want this toolbar to be easily uninstalled via the Add/Remove programs menu in the control panel.
Also, once the toolbar in installed, it should open a URL as defined in the XML file.
Please make sure to attach samples of your work, as well as what language you can write this application in for us. If any of the above is not possible, please let us know in your bid.
Thanks for your time.
