If I were to give a blueprint for a web property to 1,000 developers on scriptlance, I am sure that most of them would be able to provide an end result that would be satisfactory. That being said, although eventually I will need a development company, what I need today is someone whose expertise is in moving from concept to blueprint. My concept is now outlined in about 50 pages of functionality and link structure most of which is in bullet form. Additionally, I have near 400 pages of originally written content that will need to be worked in to that functionality. I am looking for someone or company that: •Is abreast of current software modules that have already been developed that can be licensed for less than I could have them developed, thus reducing the cost of this project. •Someone that will challenge my beliefs and understandings of the web to be sure what I think I want is what I really want. •Understands the search engine landscape well enough to design this blueprint in such a way that it will rank in the top 5 of its key words and phrases, and yes they are already competitive and popular. •Help me develop this in versions. There is so much to this site that to expect a final product is too much. I need someone that can help me break it down into achievable steps. This will allow me to have something up and running now, provide pre-determined pay structure (paying as each phase is complete). By developing this in versions, but planning the 5th or 7th version from day one, it is my hope that it will be built up front so that additional functionality is easily added vs. completely needing to overhaul the entire site. •Can see the big picture in my mind, and can suggest ways to make my picture better, stronger, faster, than my competitors. •Someone that understands the back end concepts such as security, out going email servers, blacklists (and avoiding them), the administration back end, construct of different levels of authorization, all of the things that are necessary, but not included in my functionality document. •Someone who is familiar with the work of Jacob Nielson and Hoa Loranger. Individuals who will act as a consultant or a development companies with an individual or skilled team are welcomed to apply. Once the short list has been made, the final criteria will be Checking the references provided to see how well you were able to assist in the concept to the design document. The ability to verify who you are and how long you have been serving your clients (via Google search, whois reference, reverse dns, etc.) The page rank you have been able to achieve with projects you have worked on. And although price is NOT the determining factor, it will be part of the formula. Review of a design document and the end product from that document Were I to put a weight on each of the factors 50% will be based on SEO abilities, 30% based on references and 20% on price. Every application will be reviewed except those pre-written responses that do not supply me with the requested information. To be considered, please provide me with: The resources and experience that you or your firm offer and what differentiates you from your competitors. An estimation of hourly fees for the people involved through the Technical Specifications Document. If you also have the various hourly rates for the talent needed to create the end product from the TSD that would be a plus, (if you are an individual do not worry about this, as once I have a TDS, I can find fulfillment on my own.) A suggestion on how I could be assured that the billable hours are as stated, or a method for payment based on specific criteria. (I think the payment for accomplishment would be difficult as you have no idea as the scope of the project). If all goes well, this will be a long term relationship in which you will continue to provide admin support and marketing.
