EDIT: some bidders requested line counts. They are as follows: 3143 lines in .m files 4043 lines in asv files 3276 lines in cpp/c code. No need to port that, just plug it into the resulting R code. The code looks well written and well commented. ------- THis project requires someone familiar with R ([login to view URL]), the statistical programming language. I'd need you to recode a model (written by someone else) from Matlab to R. I have some code for alternative models in R. R is very similar to Matlab so recoding should not be very difficult. The application I want to recode is: [login to view URL] This model can find the similarity between word meanings. For example, it could tell you that similarity(dog, cat) is higher than similarity(dog, superman). Of course, it does more interesting stuff :) The model deals with sparse matrices. There is an excellent sparse matrix package in R called Matrix here: [login to view URL] and many other useful packages in general: [login to view URL] The matlab package comes with code examples, and datasets. I'd need you to test your R implementation against those examples, and make sure it produces similar results. It has some .cpp parts, compiled as .dlls. The full source code is available in any case. You could simply reuse that .cpp code. I don't need you to deal with documentation, as long as the R code is well-commented, I can figure out how to use it with the matlab docs. The code should be tested to work under windows.
## Deliverables
Apart from the obvious requirements that RAC cites, I'd need full source code released under the same license terms that the author have available here: [login to view URL] (Note: I'm not one of the authors) ----------- 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables):
a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
## Platform
windows; if it works under linux, so much better, but not a requirement
