LinkedIn contacts importer

Development of a script to import LinkedIn contacts of a user, when the user provides his login details. We'd like to import it into our own database for searching and querying. ## Deliverables We're looking for a script that exports the LinkedIn connections of a person and stores them in a local database. We do have the username/password combination, since the user provides it in our webapplication, so the script can log in to their account on behalf of the user. It has to at least retrieve and store the following fields: * Name * emailaddress * company * function of the connections. The imported connections have to stay related/linked to the original user. The information has to be stored in a MySQL database. An XML file with a seperate import script would also suffice. (If possible it also has to export/download the complete profile of the person. A method for this is perhaps spidering the open profile of the person and storing the information in a database. ) The solution/script provided will have to have a timeout for when Linkedin itself is not available or LinkedIn changed the method in which information is provided. Preferably the LinkedIn API has to be used. Examples for inspiration: Octazen or JobFu. perhaps it is possible to further modify these scripts. *Edit 17/9 15:24: Octazen can only retrieve the name and emailaddress. Not the name of the company and the fuinction.* *Edit 17/9 15:24: Jobfu queries the open LinkedIn profiles. Maybe this can be used as a start. The best way would be to use the login credentials of the user and retrieve the profile from there.* Last but not least, it is not allowed to compromise security or propriatery regulations of LinkedIn. We want this do be done the right way.
