The requirements here seem to be fairly simple, but I can't find an off the shell solution.
We need a simple way for somebody installing our software to be able to chmod a file to 4755. Most FTP packages allow 3 digit changes, but only a very few allow 4.
It could be a php script, a perl script or whatever...
I need to be able to set up something that will work with most hosting accounts.
To make it simple for people to install our package, I just need a simple cgi script that does one thing, and that's to run this shell command.
CHMOD 4755 /cgi-bin/site-builder
Well.... actually I guess it need to do two things, because it should echo back "file permissions have been changed, now please delete "filename" from your server"
I'm not worried about security, because after a person has run this script, I'll instruct them to remove it.
I'm open to suggestions... and I'm in a time crunch so I'd like to work with someone who can set this up for me very quickly.
