I essentially need sort of an on-call PHP/MySQL expert as a sub-contractor as I can no longer do all the work for my clients myself.

I also ocassionally need some very basic static (brochureware) websites that are professional looking created quickly for low cost. However most of the work will be developing and maintaing larger complex websites using PHP, MySQL, XAJAX, Javascript, CSS, HTML, and sometimes FLASH.

Description: Freelance Contractor who no longer has the time to wear all the hats in Web development, marketing, etc. Looking for a seasoned, reliable, and efficient programmer that is fully proficient in PHP and MySQL to help with development of new websites and management of existing ones.

#1 Requirement is that you communicate well and QUICK. This means you respond to all e-mails within 2 hours, Monday through Friday (except holidays) - 8 AM to 3 PM Pacific Time, 11 AM to 6 PM Eastern. If you are going to be unavailable to respond within 2 hours then you proactively notify me when you will not be available. Most of the time responses should be closer to within 30 minutes (I usually respond to e-mails within 10 minutes.)

#2 Requirement that you are fully proficient, a guru, in developing complex websites using PHP (incl. XAJAX), MySQL, HTML and Javascript and you write clean, well organized, modular code that is free of the most commmon security exploits and has at least a small amount of commenting (description of major code sections). (Website design including functional specifications and graphic design/page layout (CSS/HTML work) is handled by other people.)

#3 Requirement is that you are able to provide reasonably accurate estimates on the number of hours a project will take when given a reasonably detailed specification for the application. This is crucial for me to be able to bid on new projects.

#4 Requirement is that you can meet mutually agreed upon deadlines!

#5 Requirement is that you fix bugs in the code, that are a result of a programming error, for free. (I don't charge my clients for bug fixes so neither should you.) If the bug is a result of receiving incorrect or not enough detail in the specification, then that work can be billed. Time spent testing code, is of course billable work. So test well!

#6 You need to be able to write documentation when necessary.

#7 You will be required to login and use a web based task management system where I will assign project tasks to you. (This is primarily used in the maintenance phase). You will simply need to enter number of hours and change task status when it is complete or when you need further information and enter any notes when necessary.

Workload will vary. Some weeks there may only be a few hours of work, other weeks I may have enough to keep you busy 40+ hours if you have the time. It all depends on changing project loads. When you provide estimated hours to complete a task or project, you can work with me based on your availability to determine a reasonably achievable deadline date to finish the work.

Please provide examples of work including website URL's. Coding examples. Where you are located. Working hours. And availability including how many hours per week you typically can take on.
