I have an application [login to view URL] that allows employers to track their employees’ desktop computers by periodically taking screenshots. You can try out the application by going here: [login to view URL] and logging in as an employee. You must have Java enabled, and I prefer you test this using Google Chrome. After logging in, click on “Clock In?? and trust the Java Applet to run it. The Java Applet is currently unsigned. I will have it signed by Monday, so if this is a problem for you, please wait till Monday to test. If you find that the employee is already clocked in (someone else might be testing with that employee), then use another employee, or log in as the Administrator and create your own employee. Password for Administrator and Employees (vWorker 1-5) is: 12345 Please do not change the password. PhpInfo: [login to view URL] The code is in PHP, but the screenshot capturing mechanism is a Java Applet. Here are the problems I’ve been encountering. Unfortunately, they cannot always be reproduced. So, you may have to dig into the code to see if you can find something. 1. Sometimes, the session will expire for an employee after about 6 hours. But not always. It happened to one employee on Wednesday and Friday. 2. Sometimes the Desktop Image Capturing tool just stops. For a particular employee, it will work perfectly one day and take 8 hours worth of screenshots. But then the next day, it will stop after 1 hour. And then the following day, it will stop after 6 hours. And then the day after that, it will work perfectly again. 3. Some employees have complained that after leaving their browsers idle, they automatically get logged out (not clocked out). Then, they have to log in again. 4. The above problems seem to be happening only for employees whose desktop images are being captured. I haven’t received these complaints from employees whose employers disabled the desktop image capturing tool for them. My programmer and I have been trying to resolve these issues, but with no success. Hence, we are looking for somebody else to step in and find things that we have overlooked. Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions.
