Php script that reads Excel file, and inserts data into mysql DB

There is a need for a multi-uploader in html5, so one can upload multiple excel files that looks like the example that is included here. (This is just an example, the real excel files have many rows, and the language of the weekdays and other words is in danish.) The parser must read from column A to I only , the last ones are not interesting. First row starts the month and year, and on new year there are 2 months and 2 years. The script must know this difference. The next row starts with a weekday (which is not interesting), then a date and a time. These are interesting and must be set into the DB. Either as timestamp or datetime type. Each row can have 2 "time's", A and B. And time A is for Employee (or substitute) A and time B is for employee (or substitute) B. Then comes the Comment cell which is also important. Beware that the time represents a start and an end. For example from 15.00 to 23.00, both the start and the end date and time must be logged in the DB. If the start is at for example 9.00, and end is 9.30. Then the system must know that 9.30 is the "next day". So it means the employee has worked 24 hours and 30 minutes, and not just 30 minutes. (One could say if end time is max 1 and a half hour after start time, then it means end time is "next day"). The same with evening shifts, for example from 23.00 "present day" (as shown in column B) to 09.00 "next day". All of these go into a row in a mysql database, so a table setup could be like this: id - datetime A start - datetime A end - datetime B start - datetime B end - Employee A - Employee B - Substitute A - Substitute B - Comment If you have any better suggestions to mysql table setup, we always appreciate new ideas (if they are good) :) We send the big excel file, when the developer is found.
