**High Level Application Specification**
Write and test an application that can be deployed and executed silently by SMS that does the following, on every user desktop:
Dialler
1)create a new dial up connection for any desktop with a modem present to dial up Rok’s 0845xxxxxxx service, with user name xxxxx and password xxxxx
2)create a new dial up connection for any desktop with an ISDN modem present to dial up Rok’s 0845xxxxxx service, with user name xxxxx and password xxxxx
3)delete the existing phone and ISDN diallers
**Desktop****
**4)create icons on the desktop to:
dial a phone connection and access a sign-in page
dial an ISDN connection and access a sign-in page
5)create an icon ([login to view URL]) on the desktop to map the users defined T: and P: drives i.e. as currently defined. Access to the T: drive should be by IP address to maximise performance. (IP address to be supplied)
6)Remove existing Llewellyn dialler and SSN (VPN) icons from the desktop. Leave the relevant VPN network connection unchanged
7)Remove existing Exeter dialler icons from the desktop
**Apply Desktop Updates****
**8)Ensure NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on each defined dialler and network connection
9)Ensure Outlook always prompts for user name and password (Binary Registry key has been identified, different for Windows 2000 Pro and Windows XP)
If the application fails execution, all changes made up to the point of failure to the users desktop must be cleanly restored.
This application must be tested to execute under SMS on a selection of user desktops as agreed with the Systems Team.
Source code must be supplied, C++, MFC, Delphi or VB
Microsoft .Net cannot be used as this will require us to deploy the framework.
