Trivia game - iPhone, Android, and/or Blackberry

Goal: Develop a high quality trivia application for the iPhone, Android and? Blackberry.? You may bid for ANY or ALL of these platforms.? Please, only experienced developers on these platforms should apply!? ? Project must be a “work made for hire?? where all source code, copyright, etc will be owned by First Guarantee, Inc.

This app needs to be completed as soon as possible.? Please specify a realistic completion date.? I’m looking for bidders that are willing to back-up their completion date with an escrowed amount that is forfeited if the completion date and/or key milestones are missed.? Bidders who are willing to risk larger amounts will be taken much more seriously.

## Deliverables

A feature overview is provided below.? Before a final bid commitment, a detailed product requirements document will be provided to the most promising bidders for your review and approval.? This document will detail all functionality, menus and screen layouts.? As time is of the essence, those who are not able to work full-time on this project should not apply.

**Your bid should include:**

1.? Your background, experience, and any example projects you have.

2.? Fixed bid price for each platform and a package price if applicable

3.? Timeline for completion of each platform.? (Be realistic!).? iPhone is the priority, but multi-programmer parallel development is desirable to speed up completion.? The quality of the app as well as the speed to final deployment are both very important.

4. Include amount and terms you’re willing to agree to in order to provide a REAL incentive for on-time completion.? After managing software projects for 20 yrs, I’ve seen too many people overpromise and under-deliver.

5.? Bid Price should include fixing all bugs found in version 1 of the application and any changes required, if any, to gain admittance into each app store.

6.? Specify whether you’re able to handle the graphics work for the menus and buttons to create a professional appearance.? Background images, video clips, and sound files will be provided by myself.

7.? Specify any added cost / time delay for background video animation or any other features you estimate as particularly time-consuming or as unfeasible on a platform.

**Feature Overview**

1.? Fun, professional looking menus, buttons and graphics for the trivia app

2.? Four play mode variations:

a) Timed questions? ? b) non-timed questions? c) bet an amount per question and d) a simplified “who wants to be a millionaire?? mode which is timed, escalates question difficulty, and grants the user some “life-lines??.? ? Each mode will have its own simple scoring formula.

3.? All modes will display a trivia question followed by 4 answer buttons.? All trivia will be supplied by myself via a tab delimited file that the app will need to be able to easily import.

4.? Ability to compile separate versions of the app from a single source code with certain app variables specified in a config file.

5.? Button, text and UI frames/borders lines shall have the primary theme color customizable for each compiled app.? Buttons ideally should have a semi-transparent background outlined with a rounded 3D style line (or propose alternative).? Color scheme can be consistent throughout the app, no need to customize colors separate for every button or object.

6.? Some simple sound affects & background music.? I will provide the audio files.

7.? Play a loopable background video clip behind the buttons, text and border lines (unless this is not feasible on the platform?).? I will provide the video in the needed size/format.

8.? Simple animation of answer buttons quickly flying onto the screen in rapid succession for added “flair??.? This feature is not mandatory, but preferred if it can be done cost-effectively.

9.? Lite and Paid version modes, where the Lite version limits the questions available.

10.? 1 player or 2 player modes, where 2 player mode simply involves passing the phone back and forth between 2 players who each answer the same questions to see who gets the highest score.

11.? Post a challenge message to Facebook, MySpace, or email to beat your score.

12.? Top scores leader board which posts and downloads scores from a Windows-based web site with separate high scores list for each game mode, and local scores for the device.

13.? Transmit to web server what questions were answered correctly/incorrectly to update difficulty rating for questions? (iPhone only)

14.? User email registration with download of new trivia question updates from a web site for free or via a purchase button.

15.? Transmission to our website of some application event analytics using Google’s free Mobile phone analytics SDK for iPhone & Android.? (This simply involves an API call made when various events occur).

16.? A button providing a simple shopping link to Amazon, iTunes, and NetFlix via API or opening the browser.

17.? Help screen (text will be provided) & user feedback button.

18.? Settings screen for a few user preferences such as enable/disable sound and whether to display correct answers.

19.? Button to load a webpage displaying other company apps? (page will be provided)

The most promising bidders will receive a copy of the complete product requirements document which provides more specifics regarding the above feature list and its design.? You may be asked to sign an NDA for confidentiality.
