We created a quality management system which stores policies and procedures using a document library in SharePoint 2013 Foundation. We need a solution which will synchronise the version number in Sharepoint to appear on the document. Currently we use quick parts to pull metadata from SharePoint into the Word documents but the Version number does not appear. The Version number will be inserted into the footer of the Word Document. I need some code to get the SharePoint version number of the document and put it in the footer of the word document so that the 2 version numbers are the same. We are using SharePoint Foundation 2013 on premise.

I did check to see this after your project posting and seems version number is not available in quick parts, however that seems to be the old way.
