Looking for a unix software engineer to modify scripts on an Axis camera.
Currently upon detecting motion the camera captures a short video clip (~3MB) and will want to upload this via an ethernet connection to a remote server. The ethernet is connected to a modem that powers on when motion is detected. It takes 50 seconds for modem to come online. This is important to have the modem toggled by I/O so that it does not use too much power.
Unfortunately the script aborts before the modem is available. This causes the video file to be lost. There is sufficient memory available on the camera to cache a 3MB video, in fact 80MB. Need to delay the "Send Video Clip" action for 1 minute or have it retry in a minute without losing the .MKV file it is creating.
The camera firmware for an Axis-M1004W is 188.8.131.52 Vapix manuals from Axis do not suggest a clear method to do this. less
