Hi there, I have read your project description and i would love to help you with it , I have experience in drawing floral and i have done a similar project before, my illustration are traditional using ink , watercolor, markers... etc , then I transfer it to my computer to start assembling the final design . In your case I would draw each element separately ( the flower and leaves) and assemble it in any way you want either cluttered like a bouquet or a continuous pattern .
