I have this Lucky Star fanfic, called Starbound, that I am planning to eventually adapt into a video game. It is available on both [login to view URL] and deviantArt, but given how sluggishly it's been moving along since 2013 (most recently updated last summer), I would like now just to begin developing the game.
I have just completed the main spriteline for one of the player characters, and would now like some maps to test her on.
With that, here are the following:
The Lucky Star anime (basically a cute, gag-driven slice-of-life series about four teenage girls):

Summary of Starbound:
Three of the main four get their hair updone by some magical stones, which then give them a sixth sense and psionic powers. From there, they and Tsukasa go on an adventure to meet other girls appointed by these stones and fight all manner of weird creatures. As they go along, they will also fight monsters who each guard a gateway to another dimension where the spirit of one of their ancestors resides, ending up in another part of the world each time they return to Earth.
The main characters (just who they are, what they look like, and their ethnicities):

The fanfic (seven chapters to date):

Earthbound (just to give readers an idea of what I'm trying to create; its story is pretty complicated):
- The game itself can be purchased on the Nintendo Wii U or New 3DS Virtual Console, as well as downloaded for free for an emulator. Hard copies are pretty expensive online.

- Walkthrough on [login to view URL] (w/ all pages indexed on side, as opposed to linear like on GameFAQs, and there are also maps of each area linked from the top of their respective pages):

Some general suggestions:
-The game's field screen is to be 512x480.
-Please take note of how slanted most walls, roads, etc. tend to be.
-Please create a set of 16x16-pixel tiles for interchangeability, rather than creating a given whole map as one unit.
-Buildings, trees, and other objects (aside from walls) should be created separately from a map itself, for the sake of easier placement.
-I would like this carried out on GIMP, so as to resemble a 2D Playstation 1 game with its color palette of 16.7 million.
--Please try to match the coloration style to that of the Lucky Star anime to the best of your ability.
If anyone is interested in taking this up, let's talk first about what you would like to create a map for, once you familiarize yourself with both EB, LS, and the fanfic.
