The texts would be provided by me; however, if you are a native speaker of English or Hebrew, your advice as to the correctness of my drafts would be very welcome. At a later stage, I should like to enlarge the website by pages in Spanish, French, and Lithuanian.
The major requirements which my website should fulfill are:
(1) Non-verbal elements. A small number of graphical elements to be placed on the website, or its background, should refer to the focus on Litvak genealogy. The word "litvak" designates "Lithuanian Jews," that is to say Jews who lived in "Lite" which encompasses present-day Lithuania, Belarus, Latvia, the northeastern Suwałki and Białystok region of Poland and some border areas of Russia and Ukraine. The center of Jewish life in this area was Vilnius (Vilne). I would be able to provide you with photo files which might be suitable for this purpose, but your suggestions are, of course, very welcome.
(2) Easy uploadability of documens. Genealogical research often starts with hints in elder documents in the possession of my clients. My website should offer a function which would make it possible for my clients to upload Word, PDF and photo files, even if they are somewhat larger (up to 20 Mb).
(3) Communication. It should be easy to communicate directly with me from the website platform by email, telephone and social media.
(4) Data confidentiality and compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union. As I carry out my business from within the European Union (EU), my website has to indicate--
- that it complies with the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union and its data confidentiality and privacy povisions, and
- that it makes use of cookies (if this should be the case), to which the user of my website needs to agree.
(5) Contracting and payment. There should be an online contracting and payment function, the latter connected to my bank affiliation, credit card and Paypal account, respectively.
