Build a Website

The basic premise of this website is providing an online marketplace where students attending Loughborough University can sell/buy used items. The website will have four main categories [Electronics, Books, Clothes/Accessories, Miscellaneous], which will then be further divided into the relevant sub-categories. To sign up to this website and become a member we need to ensure that they are actual students and so, only valid university email addresses will be accepted upon registration. Once verified, students will have their individual profile and are free to post any adverts or contact sellers. Selling - For this aspect we need the ability to upload photos, space for the description of the product and the option for all users to comment on the post if they have any questions regarding the item. If possible we'd like to extend the messaging capabilities to private messages and the function of Notifications to inform users of new messages/comments. If or once the item is sold, the seller should have a button to press to inform any other users that the item is no longer available. Buying - Registered uses can view adverts, comment on them if they require further clarification, or directly contact the seller if they are committed to purchasing. Regarding the photographs, the original advert will size the photo accordingly however buyers should be able to click the picture to see it enlarged. We want the design of the website to be relatively simple but this will be discussed later on. This is NOT like eBay, as student won't be mailing the products, but rather meeting up on campus to exchange goods. Please note that this project will need to be completed for review and approval by 11th April 2014. If any tweaks need to be made this will be discussed and given a further week to complete. The final deadline for this entire project will be 18th April.
