I am seeking for experienced candidate who can develop required Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) software for Out of Band (OOB) Management access for remotely monitoring and managing system over Ethernet. This BMC software can be developed using the open source project called OpenBMC. A branch of OpenBMC that has been developed by Intel can be found in the link below: [login to view URL] ASPEED AST2500 chipset will be hosting the BMC software and communicate to the system through I2C bus. The BMC software will run on the ASPEED chip to provide required functionality using standard management protocols such as IPMI and Redfish. Features required by BMC include following: - System Power / Reset Control - Front Panel Management - System Event Logs - Sensor Data Record Repository - Field Replaceable Units (FRU) Reporting - Sensor Monitoring - Fan Control & Hot-swap Fan support - Acoustic Management using multiple fan profiles - Power Supply - Thermal Sensors (Fan Profiles) - EDSFF E1.L SSD Management o Product Data Reporting (VPD reading) o SSD Monitoring – Drive thermal status, SMART data, percent life used o SSD Initialization o SSD Hot-swap o LED Management - Microchip PFX switch Management o Secure Firmware Update o Configuration File selection o Switch Temperature Monitoring - BMC Firmware Update - ARP Protocol & DHCP Protocol support on BMC NIC - Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) support - Email / SNMP Alerting - Embedded Web server Basic Qualifications: - Strong knowledge of server hardware interfaces and Industry specifications such as SMBus/I2C, PCIe, ACPI, DDR, IPMI, 10G/1G Ethernet, NVMe, SPI, I2C - Strong knowledge with Linux Package Management (i.e. Yocto) - Previous BMC Firmware development mandatory (Dell iDRAC, Dell CMC, HPiLo, etc) - Linux driver development experience (JTAG, I2C, SPI) - C/C++ programming experience mandatory (make, makefiles, GNU Autotools, gcc, Linux command line interface) - Experience reading and understanding digital schematics - Experience with Git client source code repository operations (commit, cloning, branching, etc) - Solid understanding of cryptographic technologies such as public-key cryptography and other Linux Security Methods - Proficiency in Python - Working knowledge of emerging technologies such as Redfish
