The new domain should be on same server.. I will create a folder on the root of magento for the new site.. where I will place index,php and .htaccess then hoster guy need to point the new domain to that server... Then I will be able to set up the new website to same magento... also can do other stuffs like you mentioned on the project. Happy to help you and thanks in advance
