I have human skin images from multiple body anatomical locations,— such as lips, cheeks, nose, etc..Those images were taken using ultrasound Episcan probes. My hypothesis to be proven is that skin structure is different between various locations, which is vividly seen visually and hasn't been reported in the literature yet. Episcan image analysis software requires manual optimization and measurement of each image independently and doesn't support automation. Therefore, I need someone to write a script to automate the analysis and outputs accurate measurements. Manually curated measurements will be used for comparison and benchmarking.
Analysis aims to define size of two compartments in each image,– namely epidermis and dermis. Epidermis is confined between two mosaically aligned lines at top of image followed by much bigger dermis. Please see image attached!
One problem to be solved is that imaging probe depth is not the same for all images so a way to normalize is needed. Depth is in mm.
