We use C and PIC. But we are open for any economical alternatives such as Arduino. We are located in Turkey so the parts must be available in our country. The control panel must have the following specifications; Turn on and off the generator, Turn on and off a fan, Turn on and off a light, Turn on and off a dosage pump, Has a wi-fi connection (depending on the budget, this specification may be removed or optional), Must show error codes on the display (the display is 128*64 pixel and not a touch panel.). In this generator, there are 2 solenoid valves. One fills in the tank automatically and the other drains the tank automatically. Also there is a water level probe. When somebody turns on the generator, one of the solenoid valve will work and fill in the tank. When the water reachs to top, the probe will close the valve and the system will start to heat the water and produce vapor. When the water runs out, the valve will work and fill in the tank again. When somebody turns off the generator, the other valve will work and drain the water in the tank. During working depending on the customers' request, they may be able to use all specification such as fan, light, pump etc. at the same time. Our displays technical specification sheet is in the attachment. We prefer to work with an Indian company.

I'd recommend programming in C, and if you're open to it, the esp8266 module. It's a great wifi module and very cheap. It has an open-source Arduino core developed by the community but I'd recommend against any use of Arduino for a serious product. Moreover, the LCD uses 8 pin parallel com interface and arduino doesn't provide the interface for parallel management of GPIO ports. I think I have the skills required for your project and would be very interested in the project. I know the PIC micro-controller family inside out and can implement/port the LCD device drivers too.

It's an usual case with only one difference: the generator (electricity generator).
