G'day, what a fun project this is! I would love be involved.
Red shoes, no knickers? What do your shoes say about you
There’s an old English slang ‘Red shoes, no knickers’ which seems to suggest you can tell a lot about a person by their shoes alone. Is it even true? Can the lovely pair of red stilettos you had on a night out or the comfy ballet pumps you slip on this morning say a lot of you? Can you finally know your deepest, darkest self based on your shoe choice alone?
Type in ‘what do your shoes say about you’ into a search engine and you’ll get masses of hits. Often they are quizzes, determined to put you into a box purely by the pair of shoes you wear. A pair of ankle boots? Ooh, you are edgy yet chic. Clogs? Boring but dependable. Sky high red stilettos? Well, there is a reason why sexy women are often seen as wearing high heels.
Now I don’t know about you, but us shoe lovers know we don’t only have one pair of shoes. We have black shoes for office wear, Merrell running shoes, Ecco sandals, pretty flip flops for summer days and warm yet sturdy Ugg boots for winter hikes. Like our shoes, our personalities are never the same day to day.
So please don’t put us in a (shoe) box. We love our shoes, how different they may be, as much as we love different parts of ourselves. So grab on to that pair of red stilettos if they make you feel beautiful but for the interest of hygiene, please don’t forget the knickers.
