Mobile App is Down

This job could lead to a longterm position with our company as we're in need of a developer to assist us. I run a mobile app call SmartChurch that needs someone to help us with regular development and maintenance. My current developer has taken another position and the app went down unexpectedly.
How the app is built: It is client-server model, backend is Java, Hibernate, MySQL and Lucene for search function. Frontend is pure HTML\CSS with JQuery making AJAX calls possible. Both parts of this model are sitting in Amazon cloud in different networks for the balancing purposes. There is nothing more I can share in this regard, because even these details are not needed for developer once if he has a code.
A quick description is that businesses or churches are able to go on the app and then invite people to follow their business. Once on board, they can communicate with one another via a Wall, receive push notifications, view an event calendar, etc, and look at a directory of followers.
It is hosted on AWS and everything there appears fine. I'm concerned that we have not kept up with new updates or that another issue has occurred.
I'd need someone that is highly intelligent with all levels of app development on the Server side as well as iOS and Android who can fix this issue and then become a longterm partner with us to maintain the app.
