cultural importance of food for migrant women in the U.K.

This project aims to identify the factors that highlight the cultural importance of food among migrant women in UK and how these factors contribute to make the food culturally important and the role of migrant women in this behalf. My original dissertation ( attached below) needs corrections and amendments. The key issue is the lack of feminist analysis and needs structural arguments so that the dissertation is coherent. The dissertation refers to women's "natural" place as in the home preparing food for the husband... However, that is not the "natural" but a social position. So this is needs to be clearer. Women should not be in the kitchen/producing food because they are subservient to men but because it can be a place of power, power to keep all together, power to keep identity strong and heads held high, power to travel the world without losing all the essence of who she and her migrant family group are, power within her own community as the one who holds all together...NOT because after a strong life in her home country perhaps as a teacher or doctor or businesswoman, she has lost because of being a migrant and is pushed back into the kitchen alone. The fault here is twofold, the patriarchal men of her own community who do not argue against it and the patriarchal socio-economic and cultural pressures of her adopted home. The important point that needs to be clear and added to the thesis, is that migrant woman is a strong woman and her strength can be shown in many ways. It can be shown in the kitchen, at work, at social meetings, in school etc... Preparing food is not a disempowerment but an example of how a strong migrant woman is by still keeping her culture and traditions and passing them to her family and community. We can also talk about how these traditional foods are so rich and require experience and knowledge of ingredients to master them, can be an excellent home remedies for many minor common illnesses and diseases. This is a power itself! A migrant woman also helps in keeping family together, because traditionally when a family sits together for dinner, a discussion inloving family problems (kids, work, finance etc) is carried out so the family as a whole can have an opinion and contribute in building a strong family. Mirgrant women can also contribute in the community, however this contribution is restricted because according to the British state respose in 1960's women are only given relgious observance, traditional dress and other supposedly "none political" and including the social control of women, without their presence offering any major challenge to the basic framework of social, economic and political relations in society. Muslim women on the other hand are victims of the cleric, as they restirected by them as well as the head state of the country. Please notice, this is NOT writting a full dissertation. This is ONLY adding few points as discussed above and amendments to the actual dissertation written.
