A permalinks problem resolving on my site - repost

I have a portfolio page (Woothemes Canvas) with listed projects. After a few hours the individual portfolio pages return 404 errors, which is only fixed when I visit the Permalinks page which resets the links. I can't work out what is causing this issue and it will be affecting my SEO so is a priority to get fixed. PLEASE NOTE due to temperamental aspect of this problem I will only be able to release funds once the problem is fixed AND REMAINS FIXED for a 48 hour period. Thanks.
