I am going to be opening a charity website allowing donations to be made of any amount from £1 to - whatever. I would like the site to be basic but pleasing to the eye, highly accessible and easy to use. I would like the site to be able to cater for some information entry from its clients, Name, email address etc. and a 'league table' to be created for biggest donators, biggest donation and by charity. I imagine that the site will need to link to something like a paypal to actually make the donations and the client will be able to choose the charity from a dropdown as well as submit a requirement for a charity to be included that isnt already there. The site should also have functionality for a client to click a button called "tell someone about..." and this will allow the user to create an email to someone to inform them of my site. Also the site shoul have a forum to allow clients to organise events - accept sponsorships etc.
I am technical but havent done any web design for a while, im not looking for anything flash, simple but effective, low cost. Open to discussion on the site and how it will work, technologies, recommended technologies etc. I may come up woth more ideas and will discuss these when someone makes contact about this project, this is for a very good cause so please help.
