Hey, building Instagram is really not hard. It is very simple application. The hard part of this project is building the backend that will store all the user information and those pictures, you will need a lot of storage space if you plan to have many users. You can all do this with Parse open sourced server and host it on the AWS for great scaling but it would be maybe expensive, or you can also build own parse server on some Linux and define all your HW requirements on demand, it wont be as easy to scale the resources but it might be cheaper at the begining. I am iOS developer, I work in Swift and Autolayout and I got most of my experiences with Parse framework and backend. It also depeneds what are those advanced features because creating Instagram is really not hard...
