I want to make an amazon machine image (ami) that installs all the software necessary to run this software program: [login to view URL] that software includes: torch7 [login to view URL] numpy/scipy after the image is built, it should create an ami available on the internet. This guy explains how to do this with berkshelf: [login to view URL] I dont want to use berkshelf, I prefer to use shell scripts or puppet to install all the software necessary to run the program. I have an existing repo that has a packer file to start with. deliverable: git repo that contains the code using [login to view URL] to build an amazon ami that can run the code from the above. for me to create the ami image, I want to be able to run this command: packer build -var 'aws_access_key=KEY' -var 'aws_secret_key=SECRET' [login to view URL]
