I need a small program written in C or C# that runs on Windows with the following characteristics: 1) A continuous repeating string of text will be coming from a weight indicator showing a weight in [login to view URL] KG [LF] [CR] format 2) A barcode reader will send a barcode either via USB or USB Serial emulation with the following format: XXXXXXXXXXX[LF] [CR] 3)Upon receiving the input from the barcode reader, the software must combine both strings in the following input: barcode [TAB] weight 4) The output format shall be easily modified, using a simple .txt file where the end user can modify it for example as: weight[CR]barcode, weight[tab]barcode, weight[space]barcode, etc. The software shall run in stand-alone background mode, so that when a barcode is read, it will capture the other serial port input and send it as a keyboard emulation, so that the string will be automatically written where the cursor is located regardless of the program that awaits for the input.

I believe what you are asking for is reasonable, and that I have adequate enough experience with C# and windows to achieve what you are looking for. I do however have some reservations about taking on the project but I believe we can discuss those later (my concerns are mostly to do with timings between the usb devices).
