Software Brief: Live odds will be collected and updated in real-time. Comparisons between odds between different bookmakers will be used to calculate whether the criteria has been met to place a bet. When the criteria is met, the software will automatically navigate to the relevant bookmaker, and place the corresponding bet. Software Breakdown: - The odds can be collected in whichever way you like, this will be left up to you. The essential part here is speed. With odds rapidly changing, it is important that the software keeps as up to date as possible, as there may be only a small window of opportunity to place the bet before the odds change. See [login to view URL] for reference - this is a website that compiles live odds from a wide range of bookmakers. - The criteria for when the bet will be placed will be discussed after the job has been awarded, but it is in it's simplest form, it will be a comparison between the odds that specified bookmakers have on offer. - There is likely to be a couple reference bookmakers used, and so if these bookmakers does not have game on offer, that game will be dismissed. - Football will be the concentration of the betting, and so other sports can be dismissed. - Only pre-game odds should be considered, the software will not be looking at in-play matched. - Once the bet has been determined, the software must access the bookmaker, create the relevant betting slip with the correct amount to bet (this will be part of the bet calculation/criteria) and then place the bet. This will likely require a collection of accounts/logins to automate the login process. Here is an example of a website, where you are able to attribute your bookmakers login details to your account on the site, which then allows you to place bets from the website itself, or to be directed through to bookmaker with the betting slip automatically filled out (apart from the amount to bet) [login to view URL] - If a bet has been made on a match, the match should then be disregarded to ensure there are not duplicate bets. UI: The user interface can be a simple as you'd like. The main factors here are that it needs to offer: - A choice of bookmakers. I may not wish to use all available bookmakers, and so I would like to have the choice of which to use (possibly by simply having a tick box next to all of the available bookmakers). If the bookmaker isn't selected, it's odds should not be considered when calculating whether the criteria has been met to make a bet. - The criteria for calculating whether a bet should be made or not must be adjustable through the UI. This doesn't need to be complicated as it is only likely to be a few variables that will required to be changeable, and can be as simple as a text box or slider. - A secure place to enter and store bookmaker login details will be required. Hopefully this is enough of a brief for you to understand the project. I look forward to hearing your proposals.
