Database for rubber thickness measurement

We are a manufacturing data monitoring company. This project will use our software to pull data from machines on the plant floor. The informaiton needs to be housed in a SQL database (SQL Server 2008) for reporting/trending purposes. the output of this project is to have a database designer work with our technical team to create the database tables in the most efficient fashion to allow extraction of necessary data and to create queiries to allow report generation against the stored data. This is one project of many.
