calling an excel macro from powerbuilder

What I need is a macro or command to do the update links command. I can write a macro to update linked spreadsheets? and i would like to call it from my script above. My application writes out data to a spreadsheet that is? linked to another spreadsheet with report formats.? I want to update the? cells auto from the linked ss after the ss is written with data. I am missing the small lines of code to do this. Can anyone help.
