I need code that will use DirectSound to monitor any audio input device that is DirectSound capable. I need it to be able to recognize and distinguish sequences of individual tones provided in a database or flat file. Once a configured sequence is recognized, an entry will be made in another database or flat file with the time, date and tone sequence label. Tone segments will be distinguished by frequency, duration (min / max), the order they appear, and interdigit time. This will primarily be used for recognizing two-tone paging signalling tones from a scanner. Adding DTMF recognition would be a plus, but is not necessary. The user interface need not be polished, as I will likely be rewriting that portion myself. Error handling must be exhaustive, as this application will run without user intervention for long periods. This application needs to run continuously in the Windows 2000 system tray. It also should be able to run under Windows XP, 98 and NT4.0.
