Clickable Map
Looking for a Java script programmer experienced with google maps API for a 3-5 hour gig.
The result is an interactive web app in the form of a map of eastern Massachusetts, which means Middlesex, Norfolk and Suffolk counties.
See state county map here - [login to view URL]
This will be a page in our WordPress website.
Clicking the primary map links ultimately leads back to pages we will write for each zip.
No Flash- This needs to be iPhriendly!
Feature wish list (open to suggestions)
• Allow users to Zoom in and click a flag
• Users can search by just zip, city name , or full street address (in that order) but the underlying results are zip code oriented
• Search results lead to zip code flags which “pop” (get larger maybe?) in the map
• Hovering over each flag displays a text box with an info panel
• The info panel has a primary text input and a primary url input to link back to its zip page
• The info panel also has some text format options
• The info panel also has and a secondary list- with favicons or images and links.
• Info panel should auto resize depending on what we input
• IF in the budget- info panel should have resize handles and the text enlarges as the box gets bigger for the farsighted
• Open to ideas to make it cool
We eventually would like to cover the whole state but right now only need zip codes in these 3 counties Middlesex, Norfolk and Suffolk.
To deal with that I have 2 ideas
1) Gray out all the others county by county until we set up a referral network
2) Have zip code flags in the other counties default to a message like, “We do not currently serve this area please contact us and we will be happy to refer you to a local appraiser in your area” link to our contact page url
3) Suggestions are welcome.
