Bulk DNS check

Hello. I can develop PHP tool which check domains today. It will be multithreaded (20-30 threads). So if we suppose that DNS server replies in an 1 seconds (which is too much, the standard values are 50-150 milliseconds) 1 million domains will be checked in an 9 hours. If DNS replies will be fast enough then domains will be checked 2-3 times faster. The main feature of my tool is multithread. Otherwise it will take too much time to check 1 million domains. I will deliver the tool today in an some (6-8) hours. Regards, Vladimir

Where would this script be hosted/run from. The speed and ability would depend on that as well. Also, please do clarify the question about the DNS check that you need.

Hello Sir, I have great experience in both PHP and Python. the script to check for the records can be done in either language. also to make the check more efficient we can run multiple copies simultaneously of the script using cron jobs that deals with equally-sized set of the data records. Hi, Thank you for posting your requirement. My name is Inderjeet and own a small 4 member IT services firm based at Chandigarh,India. We have been into IT since 1994 (desktop software), into Web-apps since 2001 and Wowza/FMS based video streaming/VOD apps for about 5 years. We're Currently exploring International clients through these portals for mutually beneficial and long lasting collaborations. I was not clear if the dns has to be checked from your mysql db or publicly. I think you are trying to capture dropped or expired domains. If yes, the WHOIS servers will not allow that many requests from a single IP as they have bulk query protection, unless you are a registrar yourself. To meet your requirement of 1 million domains / day we will need to ensure the script runs in the most efficient manner possible since you will need to resolve ~12 domains a second as well as handle the data storage aspect of it as well to keep your database properly updated not to mention the latency of the lookup. This project will need to be multi-process / multi-threaded. I can help you do this.
