APACHE - PERL Configuration Assistance

Hi there: We have a simple configuration issues which we need resolved. Here is the situation: System is Linux Fedora Core 2, Oracle 8.1.7 installed, Perl 5.8.3 installed. We have a user which has all required accesses and this user can log in and execute a perl script which connects to the oracle database without any problems. This user can also load SQLPLUS to connect to Oracle. When this perl script is copied into the CGI-BIN directory and executed from there it produces a 500 internal error msg. The error log reveals the following: [Tue Oct 05 06:32:55 2004] [error] [client [login to view URL]] Can't load '/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.3/i386-linux-thread-multi/auto/DBD/Oracle/[login to view URL]' for module DBD::Oracle: libclntsh.so.8.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory at /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.3/i386-linux-thread-multi/[login to view URL] line 229. Again this script from the command line executes without any problems so the issue must be with the apache configuration - most likely relating to environtment variables, lib paths, etc. Perl scripts that do not try to connect to the oracle db run fine in apache. Selected bidder can have root ssh access to the machine in question in order to diagnose / fix the problem. We are looking for someone to fix the problem not for someone to give us guidance how to fix it. Once the problem is fixed we would require a document outlining the steps taken to fix it incase we need to configure additional computers in the future. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
