Creation of Event Guide / Back End Database

We need someone with good experience in web programming to build us an online event guide with a calendar but that also has a strong back end database to allow for the entry and editing of all of the events. Although it is difficult for us to imagine what the website will eventually look like, we have put together an image in Photoshop which is attached and available for you to download. I will now talk through the project. THE CONCEPT There are many listing services online which provide information on upcoming sports events, exhibitions, concerts and public holidays etc… In order to find out what’s on, one must visit several different sites which takes time, effort and the knowledge of where to look. Now, our clients can see What’s On by clicking through our website to this central directory of information. THE BENEFITS (FOR OUR CLIENTS) Clients will be able to benefit from viewing the events at which their specific target audiences can be found. They will save time and ensure that they are up to speed with all that is going on. THE BENEFITS (TO US) Clients will be provided with extra benefit which will endear our company to them. Clients will also access the site through our website thus encouraging more hits and greater exposure for our company. THE VISUAL A clean cut, fresh, funky and cutting edge screen layout. The screen should be split in two with a calender on the left (please see image attached) and a reading pane to the right. The calender will show the categories of events on each particular day (such as Sport, Theatre, Holidays). When a particular category (sport) is clicked on, the category and description will be seen in the reading pane. In order to find out more information, a particular event is clicked on. This will open a small box which contains all the information held about that event. This includes a title, sub title, main description, photo, website link, price, times and more. THE BACK END (ADMIN AREA) The following fields are currently recorded in the event database: Day Date Category Description Company Details Note Venue Time These fields need to appear on our back end with additional fields such as Photos, Target Audience and some Variable Fields specific to the event. (All will be provded on service provider selection) OTHER REQUIREMENTS We must be able to upload information from an Excel file (where the information is currently stored). We must also have the ability to export from the website. Users can also submit a form with the specific fields which can then be authorised by the click of a button and thus uploaded.
